How to look up a list of ZIP codes
- Paste your ZIP codes. One per line works best, but commas and spaces work too. You can copy an entire column from Excel or Google Sheets.
- Choose whether to remove duplicates. It’s on by default. Turn it off if you need one result row for every row in your original list.
- Press Look up ZIP codes. Results appear in about a second, with a summary at the top.
- Filter, download, or copy. Show all rows, only found ZIP codes, or only problems. Then press Download CSV or Copy table to paste the results back into your spreadsheet.
Formats the tool understands
- One ZIP code per line:
77002 - Comma- or space-separated lists:
77002, 75201, 78701 - ZIP+4 codes:
77002-1234is read as 77002

Tips for cleaning a ZIP code list
- Look for PO Box ZIP codes in lists that should only contain street addresses. They’re a common cause of returned packages.
- Check the Not found rows. They usually mean a typo, a transposed digit, or an out-of-state ZIP code.
- Keep duplicates when matching rows. If you’ll paste results back next to your original list, turn off Remove duplicates so the rows line up.
- Remember that ZIP codes can cross county lines. The county shown is the primary county. For taxes, voting, or legal paperwork, confirm the exact county for the specific address with an official source.
